7   saying with a loud voice, "Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water."
8   And another angel followed, saying, "Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication." 9   Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, "If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand,
10   he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.
11   And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name."

SUMMARY

The first angel announces with a loud voice that the gospel will be preached to the world before Babylon is destroyed by fire. Two messages must be preached, for the world to repent, and that Jesus Christ is returning. The everlasting gospel is that which God gave long ago writing them in stone. The Ten Commandments such as keeping the Sabbath have not been done away but expanded by Jesus Christ. Fear God means changing from the way of the world and worshiping God by being His servant Revelation 19:5. This first angel has appeared and we are at the beginning of the period of the Holy Spirit being poured out and the gospel being preached.

The second angel is a brief and traumatic event similar to the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah Isaiah 1:9. Christians that only partake of wine (Grace) Isaiah 29:9, 13 are left behind and those who both eat the bread (Commandments) and drink the wine (Grace) are protected in the wilderness Deuteronomy 32:10.

The third angel covers the three and a half year period of the Great Tribulation that ushers in a new world power in Europe. Those who worship the false Christ and receive the false mark will be cast into the pit.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Does the Angel preach the gospel?
The angel delivers the message just like a mailman delivering a letter. The angel is not the message. The gospel is preached by men and women. Babylon's fall is caused by a physical nation. The nations that become the Beast power are physical nations. The angel is announcing that it is time for the prophecy to begin.

Who is Babylon?
Babylon is the country of the north, this is the United States Isaiah 48. The House of Jacob has separated from the Jews Isaiah 48:1. They are the covenant people who believe in Christ but are not righteous. Isaiah 48:5 says that God has given them wealth and prosperity and has written these words in advance so they could not say it was by other gods. God will reject them and their nation will be destroyed for rejecting Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ will remember a remnant and return them to Israel after He returns. In Isaiah 48:12-14 God calls the covenant people, Babylon. Because Christians practice the same wickedness as Babylon they have received its title. He calls the Church to come out of Babylon and go to a Place of Safety Isaiah 48:20. Why will God allow the nation of the covenant people to be destroyed and Christians around the world to be persecuted? In Isaiah 48:18 the answer is given: They have rejected the Ten Commandments. The word sing is a Bible key:

  • With a voice of singing Isaiah 48:20.
  • In Revelation 14:1-5 the 144,000 sing.

What are the signs that this the United States? Read Isaiah 48.

  • They are an end time Christian nation that is a world power because of the fulfillment of the blessing promised to Abraham.
  • They believe in wine and Grace but have rejected the bread and the Ten Commandments.
  • They are in a far away land.

Today, what nation is a world power, a center of Christianity, and sins as Babylon once had?

Will the gospel continue to be preached after the first angel?
Those called to preach the gospel will either be dead or go to a Place of Safety when Babylon falls. Thus they will no longer be preaching the gospel. This new period is the Time of the Gentiles. Those not in a Place of Safety who worship God will be persecuted and will not be able to openly preach. The two witnesses will preach repentance to the Gentiles and will be killed. This is a time when those who previously heard the truth will be convicted to change.

Are the Day of Judgment and the fall of Babylon the same?
There are two days of judgment or days of the Lord. The first is the fall of Babylon. It is a judgment on Christians and on the covenant people of Israel. The second is at the end of the Great Tribulation and on the entire world. The Day of Judgment is also called the Day of the Lord which is used twice in the Bible for both the fall of Babylon Isaiah 13:1,6, and the return of Christ Acts 2:20. These are called days because the events happen within a day one at the beginning of the Great Tribulation and one at the end.
